Rhenia is a small hidden gem little known to even the Greeks and even more so to the tourist market. It is located next to the more well know Delos Island, separated only by a 1km straight of the sea. Rhenia Island also referred to as "Big Delos" is a protected archaeological site and ancient burial ground for warriors who died on the more famous Delos Island.
Rhenia Island is mostly uninhabited as no one is permitted to build or live on the island. Therefore it is basically untouched since it became a protected site. A secretary away from the busier Mykonos Island and the big crowds of tourists that attend Delos Island.
Rhenia Island is surrounded by turquoise colored water which transforms into beautiful crystal clear water as you approach its shores.
Its beaches are covered by golden blond sand and protected by two major coves. The four more popular sandy beaches on the Island are Ambelia, Stena, Lia, and Glyfada. The only access to the island and its stunning tranquil beaches is by private boat or excursions like Hola Rhenia.
